DotDigital Integration Guide
Transcend ensures seamless compliance with GDPR, CCPA, and other data privacy regulations through programmatic retrieval and redaction of user data in DotDigital. Using Structured Discovery, Transcend provides real-time visibility into your data by continuously detecting all objects and properties within DotDigital.
The Dotdigital integration is authenticated using an API user. Transcend can connect directly to your Dotdigital account with the API user's username and password. To create an API user, you must be an account owner, or a managed user with the "Can manage account" permission enabled.
- Navigate to our integration catalog and search for “Dotdigital”.
- Click the tile and select “+Add” located at the bottom of the module.
- Make changes to the name and Assignees as needed before clicking “Configure”. This will direct you directly to the connection tab of the Dotdigital integration you have created.
- Enter the region of your organization. You can find it in the URL you use to log in to Dotdigital. For example, if the URL is https://r2-app.dotdigital.com/, the region is r2.
- Set up an API user by following the instructions listed here and enter the username and password into the connection form.
- Connect and submit a test request if desired.
- To enable the integration for Structured Discovery, navigate to the Structured Discovery tab to enable the plugin and allow ample time for the plugin to run.
As part of Transcend’s DSR Automation feature for Privacy Requests, Transcend calls the following endpoints and returns the returned Data Fields using the Data Subjects email as the identifier:
Transcend also updates the Data Subject’s subscription status based on the request submitted by calling the following endpoints:
- Updated Contact with Consent and Preferences
- Resubscribe Contact
- Contact Unsubscribe
- Get Contacts from Address Book
- Resubscribe to Address Book
- Unsubscribe from Address Book
Data Subjects' opt-out and opt-in requests submitted through the Privacy Center are instantly processed by Transcend, which automatically updates DotDigital preferences and address books.
